I obtained my Bachelor of Science Degree in Speech Language Pathology and Audiology from The University of Texas at Dallas in May 2011.
I graduated with my Master’s Degree in Speech Language Pathology from the University of North Texas in May 2013.
I began my career in the public schools where I served children ages 3-14 for five years. I served elementary and middle schoolers in self-contained units, delivered services to small groups needing articulation therapy, and worked hand-in-hand with educators to assist children struggling with executive function deficits and language disorders.
I also gained a lot of experience working with children on the autism spectrum. I provided large group therapy in classrooms to facilitate generalization of vocabulary, social skills, and turn-taking. Along with those therapy responsibilities I also served multiple years as the speech-language pathologist on the district’s multi-disciplinary preschool assessment team.
In that role I screened and evaluated incoming students with my team members. Upon completion of the assessments, I helped develop individualized education plans to meet the needs of the students I served.
In the summer of 2017, I started as a part-time employee of a local private practice. There, I evaluated and treated children ages 2 to 15 and saw the benefits of consistent one-on-one therapy.
I developed lasting relationships with my clients and their families, and in the summer of 2018 transitioned out of the schools and into private practice full time!
In 2022 I put my career on a brief pause after my second son, Antonio was born to assist with his medical needs. When I was ready to jump back in and pursue my passion I decided it was time to go out on my own!
As a provider I have always believed in the power of intervention and have walked with numerous families on paths of their own. Creating relationships with caregivers and children is a special part of our profession, and helping them navigate through the uncertainties of developmental delays unknowingly prepared me for my own experience as a mom. Both of my boys have benefitted from a variety of services including speech therapy, feeding therapy, occupational therapy, and physical therapy which has only expanded my knowledge and passion as a provider.
Through passion and purpose, we hope SPOTS will allow us to serve our community with Skilled and Passion Oriented Therapy Services while simultaneously creating awareness for Neurofibromatosis.
