to create awareness of the importance of early intervention among providers, educators, and caregivers. I know first-hand the process can be overwhelming, and I am here to walk you through it every step of the way!
My goals are for your child to love coming to therapy, for you to feel confident in your ability to communicate with your child, and for you to feel a little less alone in a seemingly overwhelming process.
The purpose of an evaluation is to determine the presence or absence of a speech and language disorder.
Formal and Informal measures will be used to determine your child's strengths and weaknesses related to communication.
Appointments usually take about an hour.
A thorough evaluation report will be provided one week after the assessment.
It will contain standardized results, informal observations, a summary, and specific recommendations.
If speech therapy is warranted, individualized treatment sessions will be scheduled.
While treatment focuses on the goals and objectives in your child's treatment plan, therapy sessions will involve toys, games, and fun!
When therapy is fun and rooted in play, it is often more meaningful to children!
Sessions are 30 minutes in duration.
As parents and caregivers you will be counseled at the end of each treatment session on strategies you can use at home to encourage progress and reinforce concepts learned in therapy.
Empower your preschool staff with essential tools to foster language development in young children!
With specialized training, led by an experienced speech language pathologist, you can equip your educators with practical strategies to enhance communication skills, support diverse language needs, and create a rich language-learning environment.
Together, we can build a foundation for every child's success!
Screenings are provided at local preschools to determine possible deficits in speech and language.
The therapist will review the results with parents & caregivers.
If your child passes the screening, there are no further steps in the process.
If your child does not pass the screening, a full evaluation will be recommended.
Once this is submitted, the information will be reviewed and we will be in touch within 24 hours, Monday through Friday. If the form is submitted over a weekend, we will be in touch the following Monday.
Once we connect and it is determined whether or not SPOTS is a good fit for your child's needs, we will ask for your insurance information. We are in-network providers with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas and United Healthcare. Your benefits will be verified and a summary email will be sent with that information.
A date and time will be selected for your child's speech and language evaluation. A confirmation email will be sent containing the appointment information for your records, as well as the New Client Intake Paperwork Packet. It is expected that the paperwork is completed and turned in prior to the evaluation.
Bring your child to the evaluation on the previously agreed upon date, time, and location. The therapist will spend time engaging with your child, determining present levels of functioning, answering your questions, and will make a recommendation for treatment frequency and duration.
If it is determined that therapy is warranted, a schedule will be proposed based on your child's individual needs.

I’m a school psychologist and have had the absolute pleasure of working closely with Trish when she worked as an SLP in the public school setting. I can assure every parent who is considering using her services that she is one of the MOST talented SLPs I’ve ever had the pleasure of working with (and as an early childhood school psych, I’ve worked with a LOT of SLPs). She’s the best. There’s just no question about it! Not only is she always professional, she takes more pride in and has more passion for her profession than anyone I know. She is also uniquely talented in working with children with Autism (especially children who are nonverbal or have significant behaviors). She has a much more holistic, big-picture view of children than most of the SLPs I’ve worked with. Pediatric speech therapy is such a nuanced specialty and I can assure you that Trish is the best you’ll find!
Her expertise is top-notch. As parents, we never want our children to struggle with anything that can affect their self worth, so imagine the tears that went into my quest for the best speech therapist for our son. After trying other speech therapists, I knew that something was still missing. After our first meeting with Trish, I felt that she could be the therapist that our family had been praying for. By the end of our second session, I jumped and jumped for joy. Our son independently and randomly started practicing their exercises which he had never done before. This woman genuinely cares for the well-being of our son. We're shocked by how quickly his speech improved. We're constantly getting positive feedback from teachers, family, and friends.
I've cried many tears by Trish's above and beyond attitude, and especially by our son's outstanding development (she's only been seeing him for two months). Our son believes that "Ms. Trish" is his playdate, lol. She's so fun and patient, yet challenges him. He always looks forward to their sessions.
As an SLP myself, I was very selective in my child’s therapist. From his first evaluation, she built an amazing rapport with my son. She immediately wanted to know about his interests, strengths and weaknesses and tailored her sessions to meet his individual needs. My son LOVES Trish and looks forward to “playing” with her. Her sessions are engaging and child- led. She communicates well with me with everything from insurance to homework. She took the time to observe him at school as well. Trish also collaborates with his occupational therapist to meet his sensory needs. He has made good progress since starting therapy and I can’t wait to see what he will achieve while under her treatment protocols.
Trish is a blessing to our family. She is extremely engaging and thorough. She understands the challenges that parents face when their child is struggling and encourages us with her compassionate care. Thank you Trish for your excellent care of our son!
